    Description

General Electric CT-7 Saab-Fairchild 340 pewter 3" dia Medallion in Embedment from the 1980s
Rare pewter medallion commemorating the General Electric CT7 turbo prop engine powering the Saab-Fairfchild 340 in a 4" x 5" embedment.  The top is clear with 1/4" black acrylic bottom, then 1" of wood.  Base has 4 small round felt pads at each corner.
This piece weighs 3 lb. 8.3 oz. - it's heavy!
There seems to be a slight flaw inside the embedment where the medallion meets the acrylic - and one of the wooden corners is a little chipped.  There is a slight scratch on the surface of the acrylic and wood base. See marked photos.
In 1985 Fairchild exited the aircraft manufacturing business following the completion of the first 40 units.  After that Saab dropped the Fairchild name from the project.
    A piece of aviation history!
Around 40 years old this has not been cleaned and you can see the beautiful finish on the medallion in the photos.
